The film is about an insecure boy who goes to his new girlfriend's house, where he unexpectedly meets her judgmental dad for the first time and has to sit through an awkward family dinner with him.

-What is the first movie experience you remember?
There is a funny story that I thought of when I saw this question. When I was 5 years old, my family and I lived in the United States and I remember I got a DVD of "High School Musical". I watched this movie non-stop because I was so fascinated by the music and songs in the movie. One day my dad and I were home alone and he took a shower and of course I went straight to the TV room to watch "High School Musical", where I turned the speaker up and danced and sang along. That party ended abruptly when my dad came running in wearing only a towel to lower the music. I think of that moment as my first experience of passion towards film.

-What fascinates you about filmmaking?
It is easy to say that a lot of people love watching movies. It is a routine for most everyone in the world to come home after school or work and watch something entertaining. What fascinates me about watching movies is how much quality time it is and how relaxing it is. My appreciation of movies has increased a lot since I started The Film School, as now I'm starting to watch and analyze what's cool and works that I want to use for future projects.
-Why did you choose Directing and Producing?
I originally applied to Creative Technology at The Film School as I was very interested in post-production, but then changed my mind and went to the Directing and Producing department as I enjoyed directing and wanted to know more about the production side of films. I went into the program a bit blind, but the courses that Directing og Producing had to offer looked so exciting. There was so much to do, like music videos, commercials, TV shows, multi-cameras and more! I am very happy to have changed my path, as Production suits me better and I see my future in that field.
For those interested in applying to this program, I definitely recommend it! My interest in filmmaking has increased many times since I started my studies at The Icelandic Film School.

-Did anything particularly surprise you in the study?
What surprised me in the program was that we get to learn different things and in a variety of ways. It can be overwhelming, but it's good that it's all in the experience bank now. I am also very happy that I met a lot of incredibly fun and talented professionals during this program. Nice to study with people who have the same interests and to be able to have the honor of working together and making connections for the future!
