New department heads have begun employment at the school

We are proud to announce that two new department heads have been added to our team at The Icelandic Film School.

We welcome Valdis Oskarsdottir as head of Editing.

She enters the school loaded with experience and has both been nominated and has won multiple awards, amongst them a Bafta award for her work on “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and The Edda for “The Sea”, which was directed by Baltasar Kormakur.

We also welcome Ari Kristinsson that will be head of Cinematography

There are few jobs within the film industry that Ari has not encountered and besides degrees in Arts he has decades of experience in film making. He has worked on numerous Icelandic films, among them “Children of Nature”, Iceland’s nomination for The Academy awards and he was awarded honorable Montréal World Film Festival awards for Best Artistic Contribution for.
