What is the first movie experience you remember?
My first film project was "Mitt litla skjól" which is a film about autism and was my brother's graduation project from The Film School. I was a production assistant and after that I couldn't stop thinking about filmmaking and wanted to pursue it.
What fascinates you about filmmaking?
I have rambunctious ADHD so working for 12 hours under a lot of pressure with fun people is the dream, every day is different and I can let my ADHD and my brain be free in the arts.
Why did you choose your department?
At first I was going to study acting, but I was worried that I would ruin acting for myself by putting myself in a box. But since I was an electrician and had some experience with Premiere, I decided to go to Creative Technology. I thought the light department would appeal to me the most, but then I fell for sound recording and found myself in that field.
Did anything particularly surprise you in your studies?
One thing that was particularly surprising was how important communication is in this work and how far asking and listening got me, opened my mind a lot and made me better in the whole process. And as my brother said, at the end of the day, all of us, no matter what department, are working for the film and making it the best it can be.
And what does the future look like?
The future seems bright to me, I aim to be a sound mixer and I think I will achieve it. I am always willing to learn more and the day I stop wanting to is the day I stop working in this business.
