Graduation winter 2021 - Birta Nott Sara Salvamoser, Acting

Birta Nott Sara Salvamoser will graduate from Acting on December 18th with her film "Flugandi faer".

"Flugandi faer" is about a young woman who has to deal with the obstacles of growing up and standing on her own two feet. She seeks out her mother in the hope that she can come up with solutions and take responsibility, but it turns out to be difficult for both of them.

On this occasion, we got to ask Birta Nott a few questions

What is the first cinematic experience you remember?

My first proper cinematic experience, after cartoons of course, is "The Truman show". I was completely obsessed with that film and felt so amazed that it was possible to create a new world through this form. I was fascinated by the emotions I experienced; compassion, joy and all kinds of ponderings.

What fascinates you about film making?

What fascinates me about filmmaking is that through this form we can tell countless stories, allow people to see life and situations with different eyes, feel joy and compassion and understand each other better.

Why did you choose your department?

Ever since I was little, I've always enjoyed telling stories, imitating others, dancing, singing, and fooling around. It has followed me over the years and acting has always been a big part of who I am. There's just something so great about stepping into another person and her world and having the opportunity to tell people the story based on it. I have gained a much greater understanding of other people. And this is one of the most fun things I do!

Anything that surprised you?

What a lot of mental work there is behind acting and that it is bad to take yourself too seriously.

And how does the future look?

The future is really exciting, now it's just a matter of raising money for further studies abroad and being open to new and exciting opportunities!
