Ýr Þrastardóttir will be graduating on June 4th from Creative Technology with her film “Agnes”
Agnes is a young woman who goes on a spiritual journey to get through isolation and loss of love. The journey takes place in a dream world where she encounters various challenges that she has to face
What fascinates you about filmmaking?
What fascinates me about filmmaking is the possibilities that the art form offers. It is possible to create characters that influence the viewer and tell stories in a variety of different ways through films
Why was Creative Technology chosen?
I chose Creative Technology because I have a special interest in using filmmaking to come up with ideas in an original way, and technology helps a lot to open the door to the wonder of filmmaking. Editing, sound, and post-processing can dramatically change your subject
Did you have any particular surprises in your studies?
It surprised me how diverse the study is and what we learn in many different aspects of filmmaking. This is a very practical study and I think I have learned the basics in most things related to recording and editing footage
What does the future hold?
The future is bright, I have two editing projects on the table and I'm also excited to work on my own film projects in the future
