Erna Ísabella will be graduating on June 4th from Directing and Producing with her film “Daughter”
The perspective of a father on his daughter who is in a violent relationship without his knowledge. Why does she seek violent relationships? Is there a connection?
Father image is extremely important.
Is it possible to engage in violent behavior without one's knowledge?
What is your first memory related to films?
“Lion King” when I was very young
What fascinates you about film making?
It's all about telling the story, how you tell it and the process around the production matters, no matter what the detail is. Movies show us characters in a different light, you can see a person kill another person in a brutal way but still the backstory of the characters can cause you to feel sympathy for them. I also think it's important to make films about society and try to show reality, whether it is now or in the past, so you can try to follow in the footsteps of different individuals and from different times
Why did you choose Directing and Producing?
Because when I have an idea I like to make it a reality you feel proud, and it's a great feeling
Anything that surprised you?
Just what you need to plan well ahead and in detail so that no time is wasted on the set, patience and what it is incredibly important to find a good crew and take care of them as well as possible so that everything goes well
And what does the future look like?
Hopefully just bright, I will continue to write stories and make them a reality
