Retreat

One day a man leaves his suburban home and heads to the city to get something he has

been waiting for for a long time. However, this city trip is not so easy.

What is the first movie experience you remember?

I remember the first project very clearly. We finished it in one weekend and filmed it at

school. It was a silent film imitating Mr. Bean. It was very short, but it was a fun experience.

What fascinates you about filmmaking?

The process of completing the script is the one I enjoy the most. It is to conceive the plot,

character personalities, and the development of events. This is also a process of thinking.

Thinking is a dialectic with oneself, overturning one's own arguments, and reconciling with

oneself. Many times this process is painful, but thinking is the most important thing in this

process.

Why did you choose your department?

I wanted to choose the major of directing and writing, but at that time directing was only

combined with the major of producing, so I chose my current major.

Did anything particularly surprise you during your studies?

It is better to say that the whole Iceland experience is very magical for me. Iceland has a

style that is very different from other countries. While maintaining its own style, it also accepts new elements and maintains a delicate balance. This is actually rare in today's multi-ethnic culture integration.

And what does the future look like?

I don’t know, I think we’ll see.
