Trust
Ármann and Thórey are best friends, but they have to keep their friendship a secret from everyone else. It becomes more and more difficult to live in hiding and lying, so in the end they have to make a big decision about the future.
What is the first movie experience you remember?
I always watched the Christmas movie Coco and Doll on VHS tape. Now nobody seems to recognize this movie!
What fascinates you about filmmaking?
Filmmaking is so delightfully diverse and a great platform for people with different talents to work together and create art. It also fascinates me so much about movies that they can have an incredible impact on the audience and evoke emotions.
Why did you choose your department?
I wanted to study directing the most, but I hadn't envisioned focusing on screenwriting, so I chose Directing and Producing, not really knowing what production was. So it has been a very pleasant surprise and I have become very interested in that part as well. Glad to have chosen the best department.
Did anything particularly surprise you in your studies?
That the school is mainly about giving you the tools to go and try making films, you can't teach everything, you learn the most by just doing. I also didn't know before how much trouble filmmaking is.
And what does the future look like?
Yolo swag I always say. Not much to plan. But I'm really looking forward to graduation and hopefully I'll get a job on set as soon as possible :) I'm also going to try my hand at experimental filmmaking and create all kinds of art.
