Anna Hafþórsdóttir has a new series in the works
Anna Hafþórsdóttir, a graduate from Acting, is writing and acting in a new series in the works that will be shown on Sjónvarp Símans

Anna graduated from Acting at The Film School in 2011
I first got introduced to acting in junior high school and then became part of the drama club at Akureyri High School when I was a student there. I immediately connected with it but didn't necessarily see myself studying acting or working as an actress, but when I got into the Acting department at the Film School, I decided to give it a try. I was interested in acting, writing and filmmaking in general, so it suited me well. I immediately decided to take this course very seriously, as I was moving all the way from Akureyri, paying a lot of tuition and having to take two buses to get to school every morning, there was no point in doing it half-heartedly. I ended up in a wonderfully fun class and made friends who I'm still in touch with today. The film school years were incredibly fun and strange, I think of these years with great warmth.
Anna has taken on a variety of roles since she graduated
I have taken on a few roles in so-called low budget indie films, for example "Webcam", "Snjór og Salóme", "Auður" and "Þrot", which were all very fun and a great experience. I have also had supporting roles in TV shows such as "Afturelding", "Vegferð" and most recently I was in a few sketches in "Draumahöllin".

Another project that I always cherish is the mini-series "In the Gym with Tinna and Tóta", which I did with my classmate and friend Bylgja from IFS, we wrote and played the main roles.
I then participated in writing and acting in a series called "Vesen" that will be on Sjónvarp Símans this fall and am currently playing the lead role in my own series, "Í versta falli", which will also be shown on Sjónvarp Símans later this year. The series is a comedy/drama with a mystical twist, but it is about Katrín who has difficulty facing her own problems and instead starts spying on her boss who she thinks is up to something mysterious in the basement at work. The topics covered include a broken identity, alcoholism, complex family ties, obsession and friendship, which may sound very dramatic, but the approach is through humor and sometimes a little absurdism. There is a lot of fun in the filming and I look forward to seeing the results.
